The chair does research in the field of piece good technology and studies the behaviour, effectiveness and efficiency of transport and warehousing technologies, especially the interdependencies between transported goods and conveyor.

Based on the achieved results new calculating methods and keyvalues as well as new solutions for well known problems were developed, e.g. in the field of sorting technology.
For our industrial customers we test, analyse and optimize transport and warehousing components, crafts and systems.
